Ahmed Sedky

Ahmed Sedky, LL.M., B.Sc. (Eng.), MCIArb, MCIOB, PMP, SP, RMP, is a project controls specialist and risk management professional with 20 years of experience with construction projects and construction disputes resolution in North America and the Middle East. He is currently a project management consultant on one of the largest transit projects in North America.

Ahmed has experience with construction from inception to completion in multiple sectors such as transit, oil and gas plants, LNG plants, seaports, medical and research centres, the military, mixed-use buildings, highways and residential projects. 

As a hands-on construction professional, Ahmed communicates complex scheduling, risk, contract and claims matters in a simple way and participates in dispute resolution proceedings as a key decision-maker. He has experience in planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting, presentations, quantitative and qualitative risk management, the extension of time (EOT) claims, contract administration, correspondence preparation, building information modelling (BIM) utilization, team leading and development, and dispute resolution.

Ahmed has a master of laws degree in construction law and arbitration from Robert Gordon University in Scotland, a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Ain Shams University in Egypt, a certificate in project management from American University in Cairo and a diploma in mediation from Civil Mediation Academy in England. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Scheduling Professional (SP) and Risk Management Professional (RMP).

Ahmed was selected to represent Robert Gordon University at the annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot two years in a row. He has also presented at international construction conferences on risk management for mega construction projects, including World Cup stadiums and infrastructure. In addition, his articles have been published in project management and construction magazines, as well as by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Ahmed has delivered various customized training programs for companies in the fields of project management, risk management and construction claims and delay analysis, in addition to teaching PMP, PMI-S, PSP and PMI-RMP preparation courses since 2009.
