Born in British colonial Hong Kong, Kathleen came to Simon Fraser University as a teenager and ended up studying Kinesiology from an interest in understanding how the human body works. Upon graduation, she mainly worked in private companies before returning to SFU in 2008 as the Graduate Program Assistant in the Department of Economics. After 10 years, she was seconded to the Faculty of Graduate Studies where she learnt the other side of graduate processing in Admissions and Records, becoming their permanent staff along the way, then arriving at the Department of Global Humanities in 2026. Outside of work, she is a gym hamster and bunny mummy to two rabbits.
