If you don’t know who to consult, start by telling the person you contact that you are unsure of who to consult, and share only the minimum amount of information necessary for the person to determine who you should be consulting. This will protect privacy and prevent you from having to repeat the full details of your situation multiple times.
Human Rights
If you have concerns about discrimination, harassment based on a protected ground (such as sexual harassment or race-based harassment), or GP 18 retaliation, you may wish to consult the following resources:

Advocacy Services
SFU Resources
If you are a student who would like to access SFU’s advocacy services:
- Contact the Student Advocacy Coordinator at studentadv.coord@sfss.ca if you are an undergraduate student.
- Contact the Advocate and Policy Advisor at advoacy@sfugradsociety.ca or 778-782-9412 if you are a graduate student.
- Book an appointment with the SFSS Free Legal Clinic.
If you are a faculty or staff member who would like to access SFU’s advocacy services, contact your union/association (APSA, CUPE 3338, TSSU, Poly Party, or Faculty Association) and/or:
- A Faculty Relations Advisor (if you are a faculty member).
- A Labour Relations Advisor (if you are a staff member who belongs to a union).
- Your Strategic Business Partner (if you are a staff member who does not belong to a union).

Accommodation Requests
Students
- If you require disability related academic accommodation under the Accessibility for Students with Disabilities Policy (GP 26), contact the Centre for Accessible Learning.
- If you require non-disability related academic accommodation (e.g. religious accommodation), contact the Human Rights Office.
Faculty and Staff
- If you require disability related workplace accommodation under the Disability Accommodation in the Workplace Policy (GP 40), contact the Wellness and Recovery Office.
