Business Partnerships Team

The Business Partnerships team provides pro-active HR support, working closely with leaders and their units to deeply understand their unique needs. We provide a wide variety of HR guidance and support including workforce planning, organizational design, employee engagement, recruitment, retention and advice and coaching to leaders. We are the first point of contact for leaders and bring in specialized expertise as needed from the centres of excellence within HR.

Business Partners

Your HR Business Partner is here to provide HR planning guidance and support to align people strategies with business objectives. 

  • Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to leaders and employees that reflects strategic and operational priorities
  • Works closely with leaders to develop people plans that closely supports the overall University objectives
  • Participates in leadership and employee development, workforce planning, performance management, employee relations and workplace health and safety
  • Guidance in organizational design, change management and implementation of restructuring initiatives

Coordinators 

For day to day HR advice and support for front-line people leaders, your HR Coordinator is your primary contact for questions relating to a variety of HR matters such as:

  • Recruitment and selection processes and resources
  • People movement (leaves, extensions, temp promotions/overloads etc.)
  • Navigating HR systems, policies, collective agreements
  • New supervisor orientation
  • Probationary periods, foundational performance management
  • Various HR forms and processes
  • Job description revisions and submission requirements
