"Explaining infrastructure underperformance in Brazil: cash, political institutions, corruption, and policy gestalts" by L.E. Armijo and S. Rhodes.
- September 28, 2017: Leslie Armijo's article in the new issue of Political Science Quarterly (132:3) examines efforts by the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) countries to coordinate their foreign economic policies. "The Varieties of Collective Financial Statecraft: The BRICS and China" by S.N. Katada, C. Roberts, and L.E. Armijo.

The distinction is Canada’s highest academic honour in the arts, humanities and sciences. - August 25, 2017 - Jeff Checkel has been named an Associate Editor at the Journal of Peace Research, one of the leading peace/conflict studies journals in the world and currently ranked #10 (out of 86) in the field of International Relations.

- July 8, 2017: Jeff Checkel has been named an Associate Editor for a new series - 'Elements' - at Cambridge University Press. Cambridge Elements are short-form digital publications organised into subject based series, consisting of 20-30,000 word pieces, offering the latest developments in the field, reviews of particular topics, and guides to new methods or approaches. Checkel will be overseeing work on international-relations theory.

- June 22-24, 2017: Jeff Checkel will be participating in the international closing conference of the Collaborative Research Centre 'Governance in Areas of Limited Statehood,' at the Free University Berlin.
- June 21-22, 2017: Dr. Nicole Jackson has been invited to the Hague for a workshop on "Answering Russia's Strategic Narratives" organized by the Hague Center for Strategic Studies. The workshop is exploring governmental responses and societal bottom-up initiatives. She will then be in Brussels conducting interviews for her SSHRC project on "Canada and NATO's Responses to Russia."

- May 25, 2017: Greg Feldman will deliver a lecture at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels. The lecture, “Will the real migrants please stand up? Action, and how technocracy leaves its citizens passive,” will be based on his recent book We Are All Migrants: Political Action and the Ubiquitous Condition of Migrant-hood. The lecture will be delivered in conjunction with the documentary musical theatre performance “Simple as ABC #2: Keep Calm & Validate” directed by Thomas Bellinck.
