biography
Agnes V. MacDonald completed her PhD and MA at the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining SFU, over the past few years she has developed and taught a variety of sociology courses at UBC, Langara, and Columbia College. Her teaching and research draw from sociological perspectives in intellectual and social history, such as the Frankfurt School and the Budapest School, and in modernist literature and culture of early twentieth century Central Europe. Agnes has several publications including the book Generation West: The Nyugat Review and Hungary’s Modernist Turn, 1908-1941.
