Abstract: COPD is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and is Canada's #1 cause of hospitalization. Researchers have studied COPD for decades, but no therapy can reverse the disease's progress. This motivated us to discover novel therapies based on phenotypes of immune cells, a new area not well explored in the past. Various grants funded sub-projects of my umbrella topic, and it will continue to grow. In this talk, I will briefly introduce the problem we are trying to solve, show some preliminary results, describe our future data, and hope to build some collaborations on it.
