Nicolas Raimbault has joined us as a visiting researcher from the University of Nantes Institute of Geography and Regional Planning where he is an associate professor in urban studies and social geography. His research activities focus on the changing geography of the urban working class, in the post-industrial context of the fall of manufacturing blue-collar jobs and the rise of low-paid manual jobs in many other economic sectors (such as transport and logistics), in European and North American city-regions. He has documented the shift from industrial inner suburbs to more fragmented outer-suburban landscapes of business zones and housing developments in the Paris region.
