Negotiation Skills For women

This professional development workshop will equip women with the knowledge, support, and skills to advance their careers. Participants will learn about adjusting your mindset around negotiation, how to know your worth, and how to ask for what you want. This session is open to those who identify as women or non-binary.

Part 1: Reframing Negotiations
- Learning the negotiation mindset (Why is it important to negotiate?)
- Reframing negotiations by using powerful coaching principles
- Introducing negotiation communication: active listening, calibrated questions, and labelling techniques to engage in negotiation conversations
Part 2: Knowing Your Worth
- Doing your research: determining your market value using available data resources
- Understanding how companies build salary structures
- Discovering what benefits and perks mean, and what value they hold to different individuals
- Investigating our relationship with money and how it benefits (or thwarts) our negotiations
Part 3: Stating Your Worth
- Sharing scenarios where deflecting salary related questions is valuable
- Exploring ways of answering "What are your salary expectations?"
- Introducing elements of an offer and what to be aware of when receiving an offer
- Structuring counter offers and how to say it
Annika Reinhardt is the co-founder of Talent Collective. She holds a Master's degree in Project Management and has 10+ years experience in implementing successful learning and development programs at large scale organizations like BC Hydro and Intrawest. She is also a Certified Compensation Professional who helps digitally enabled companies attract and retain the best talent by developing attractive compensation strategies that are values aligned and don't break the bank.
Annika has been an advocate for pay transparency and can often be found sharing her thoughts on the gender pay gap on news outlets like CTV, CBC, and the Globe & Mail. Her belief in creating an equal playing field for employers and employees when it comes to compensation conversations has led her to delivering powerful workshops around salary negotiations to hundreds of participants ranging from students to working professionals in STEM related fields, marketing, customer success, and product management.
Crystal Henrickson co-founded Talent Collective in 2015 to support tech-enabled companies in their quest for delivering new models of business through developing leadership competencies, empowered cultures, and outstanding employee experiences. Equipped with a BA from SFU in Communications and Sociology, Crystal went on to work in functional roles such as marketing, sales, community building, and employee experience crisscrossing the retail, beauty/health, small business sectors to land fully in tech. Her contributions range from leading the expansion of Yelp in Canada to designing client, consumer, and employee experiences for Invoke Labs, a startup accelerator in Vancouver.
Now, with 10+ years in the tech leadership space and experiences working with 30+ startups, she is Talent Collective's Lead Leadership and Career Coach. She has coached 100's of emerging and experienced leaders, facilitated dozens of workshops and spoken at numerous conferences.
Crystal holds her CPCC and ACC coaching designation, and is most recently certified in The Leadership Circle.
