Sexual Violence Support and Prevention Office (SVSPO)

There are a variety of supports available to students who have experienced sexual violence. Using a survivor-centred and trauma-informed approach, the SVSPO empowers survivors to choose what support they need. The Simon Fraser Student Society. Students taking at least one course at SFU are automatically part of a student union, through which they can attend events, take on leadership opportunities, and receive funding. SFU Students of Caribbean and African Ancestry was started in 1994 to bring together students of Black, African, and African Descent to promote the acceptance of the varied African Diasporic and Afro-Canadian culture at SFU. SOCA is located in room 1430 of the Student Union Building, providing a safe-space for Black students to connect and rest on Burnaby campus.
