Embrace the entrepreneurial spirit at "Show & Tell - Entrepreneur Edition," a captivating monthly gathering in Burnaby and Surrey where dreams of business success take center stage!

Tailored for new and aspiring entrepreneurs, this dynamic series offers a platform to share stories, showcase brands, and foster collaborative partnerships. The events will also have business advisors, seasoned entrepreneurs, and service designers providing valuable feedback to support the entrepreneur presenters.

This 'Show & Tell - Entrepreneur Edition' is made possible and supported by the Intercultural Women's Maker Society, Diversepreneur Network, SOIRETTE CONNECTIONS, and Beta Collective.

Virtually on: 

The 1st Saturday of each month

10:30 am to 12:30 pm

AND

In-person on:

The 3rd Saturday of each month

10:30 am to 1:30 pm

Your Role:

As a Coordinator for the Entrepreneur Show & Tell, you will be joining an amazing team of kind, supportive and creative individuals who share your passion for bringing ideas to life and creating successful events! Your responsibilities will include attending monthly brainstorming meetings via Zoom and collaborating with team members to plan and promote the Show & Tell events which will take place on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Coordinators can choose one or more of the below roles:

1. Social Media Promotion:

Help spread the word about "Show & Tell - Entrepreneur Edition"! The role will involve creating engaging posts, sharing updates, and interacting with our online community across various platforms.

2. Recruitment Coordination:

Tasks include reaching out to potential presenting businesses/entrepreneurs, business advisors, and participating guests via creative ideas to invite people to join.

3. Event Day Support:

Responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth flow of "Show & Tell." Assist with registration, guide participants, and help manage the overall event logistics.

In these roles, you will: 

  • Apply interpersonal, empathy and relationship-building skills by developing healthy relationships with team members;
  • Acquire volunteer skills for community involvement;
  • Assist with creation of content for social media, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter;
  • Assist with contacting business advisors for the events.

Timeframe:

Event Coordinators will meet from May 4th to August 17th:

  • Virtually on the 1st Saturday of each month 
  • From 10:30 am to 12:30 pm 

And 

  • In-Person on the 3rd Saturday of each month 
  • From 10:30 am to 1:30 pm

We ask that volunteers try to commit to the entire run of this program (May to November 2024). This 2-semester commitment will benefit both yourself and your team. However, we also realize that scheduling and life circumstances may make long-term involvement difficult, so the minimum commitment you must be able to make is one full semester (e.g. May–August / Sept–November).

Location:

Monthly in-person Show & Tells will alternate at the following two locations:

  • Beta Collective Surrey at 10318 Whalley Blvd #1, Surrey (starting from June 15th); and
  • Beta Collective Burnaby at 3999 Henning Dr #402, Burnaby (starting from May 18th).

Monthly planning meetings will run virtually via Zoom on the first Saturday of each month.

  • Be able to collaborate and work well in a team as well as independently.
  • Be enthusiastic, patient, creative and committed;
  • Enjoy working in a group setting;
  • Be eager to share your ideas and solutions;
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills;
  • Be dependable, flexible and resourceful.
