Janina Krabbe

Evaluation can reinforce oppression or amplify societal transformation. Janina Krabbe is passionate about using evaluation to sustainably change the way we organize institutions, implement programs, shape user experiences and critique progress.

As a settler of Dutch ancestry, Janina is grateful for the Indigenous scholars pushing the evaluation field to acknowledge historical and present abuses of power, as well as redefining the field to reflect both traditional Indigenous evaluation practices and innovative new methods.

Holding a master of public health and a PhD in interdisciplinary studies, Janina brings discipline-blurring, systems-thinking creativity to evaluation. Her research focuses on designing spaces for settlers to interrogate their participation in colonial systems through art and reflection in the context of built community. Janina ardently seeks ways to expand imaginations beyond the status quo and cultivate creative spaces to foster connection and meaningful action.

A mom of two delightfully rambunctious toddlers and an avid outdoor adventurer, Janina is perpetually in awe of the beauty of these unceded Coast Salish lands and waters upon which she gratefully resides.
