Student Story

RORY DOUCETTE

During their undergraduate degree, Rory volunteered at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology and was a member of the Archaeological Student Society for four years. They also worked as a research assistant with archaeology professor Jon Driver, cataloguing artifacts from a cave site at Charlie Lake. They received an Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA) to work with Driver to authenticate sandstone artifacts, and this research has since been published in an open access journal.

In 2018, Rory attended the five-week Bioarchaeology Field School in Portugal, an experience focused on the archaeology, history, and culture of Portugal’s southern region. There, they gained hands-on lab and field experience excavating an archaeological cemetery.
