Employment and Volunteer
Effective September 1, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updated the minimum cost-of-living requirement for study permit applicants to CAD $23,448 for a single applicant outside Quebec. This requirement is separate from tuition and travel costs, and will be applicable to both new and current international students who submit their applications on and after September 1, 2026.
Students are encouraged to ensure they meet the applicable proof-of-funds requirements at the time of a study permit application or extension. For more information, please check our news update here.
