I am changing my program at SFU, will it be considered as changing level of studies?

If you are in Canada and applying to extend your SFU study permit for studies at the same designated learning institution (DLI) but a higher level of study, you will be PAL exempt starting January 1, 2026. 

Examples of this scenario include:

• SFU students moving from Bachelor's degree to Master's degree;
• SFU students moving from a graduate certificate or diploma to Master's degree.
