Session 1B: Entrepreneurship

Defining Your Personal Values

Time and Date: 10:15-11:15 AM on Saturday May 6th
Session Type: Workshop
Facilitator: Dr. Elisa S. Chavez, CCMP™

When you truly know yourself and what you stand for, it becomes easier to determine your priorities and find a career path that aligns with your beliefs. Much like a company’s core values, your personal values are there to guide your behaviour and choices. Learn how to refine your personal values by assessing what is important to you and what you need in your life. How do your personal values coincide with the values of your organization? Are there changes you should make in your life to better suit your priorities? Take away the ability to clearly articulate your personal values and why they are important to you.

Dr. Elisa S. Chavez, CCMP™ is passionate about learning and helping others learn.  A long time leadership development facilitator and curriculum designer and proven organizational development consultant, she finds helping people and organizations discover their greatest source of potential especially gratifying.  Elisa has held increasingly responsible positions in post-secondary education, journalism, and public sector health care and US health insurance. Currently, Elisa is both the Principal of Cambiar Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness – a company whose mission is helping organizations through the messiness that is organizational change – and a Change Specialist with Providence Health Care. Elisa holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and just finished a certificate in Theory U, with M.I.T.  Like we said, she’s passionate about learning. Loving the vibrancy of downtown living, Elisa and her husband live in the heart of Vancouver where she also volunteers for the Minerva Foundation and Vancouver Hospice Society – soul enriching endeavors connected to her core values of freedom, equality and connection.
