On May 5th and 6th, 2017 WWEST will bring together people of all genders and backgrounds for Creating Connections 5.0. The conference will include presentations and workshops surrounding issues of personal and professional development, networking and inspiration. Creating Connections 5.0 aims to engage industry, the community and students in BC and the Yukon to increase the regional awareness and participation of women and other underrepresented groups in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The Creating Connections conference series hopes to facilitate meaningful dialogue to create a space where everyone can explore and participate in STEM to better our world.

Increasing gender diversity in STEM and creating an engaged community of individuals that respect each other will better prep STEM industries to create sustainable solutions and developments that better humanity and our world. Previous Creating Connections conferences have resulted in immediate, statistically significant positive changes for both participants' occupational self-efficacy and their awareness of the value of gender diversity. See how Creating Connections 3.0 had a lasting impact.
