EdMedia Program

Spring 2017

Tue, April 25–Tue, May 16, 2017 | See schedule below
Education Building, EDB 7512, Burnaby campus

The EdMedia Program is an opportunity for faculty members to develop their ability to create and use educational media, whether that means producing a video, designing better-looking PowerPoint slides or learning to launch a podcast. The program consists of seven sessions set over three and a half weeks to accommodate busy academic schedules. Enrolment is limited to ensure a true boutique experience, and participants have the opportunity to work in a “creative laboratory” environment alongside like-minded colleagues and creative professionals from the Teaching and Learning Centre. Graduates of the program leave with new skills, a deeper understanding of the creative process, and assets that can be used in the classroom.

What past participants say

“For me the strongest part of the EdMedia Protege program was that it focused more on the WHY, as opposed to how and what. We may very easily get lost in the idea of creating something that looks really good but serves no educational purpose. The EdMedia team was very careful to help us understand that the why question comes first. ‘Why are we introducing this material, this visual material into the curriculum, and what learning outcome does it cater to?’”
