Kiran Bisra

Manager, Course Evaluations and Assessment (on leave)


Kiran is the manager, course evaluations and assessment. Currently, she is heading up the Student Evaluation of Teaching and Courses (SETC) project and working on transferring SFU’s course evaluation process online. Previously she worked as an intermediate analyst in SFU’s Office of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP).

Kiran earned her B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia before joining the Learning and Cognition Lab in the Faculty of Education at SFU. She holds an MA and is currently a PhD candidate in Educational Psychology. Her research has focused on various statistical techniques for the analysis of large data sets collected from subject eye movements. She is working on two meta-analyses which focus on constructive cognitive activities learners can enact to effectively comprehend new information or problem solve. Also, she has taught several graduate-level education courses focused on quantitative research methods at SFU.

Kiran currently lives in Port Moody and enjoys fiction, travelling and hiking near Buntzen Lake. This year, she travelled to Switzerland and is planning a trip to Spain.
