There are many ways to get involved and direct your investment in areas that are important to you, your family or your organization’s research needs.
Annual giving supports the educational experience by providing student scholarships and bursaries, or enabling the Faculty to upgrade research and teaching facilities. An example of annual giving is the endowment Simba Technologies created for SFU. Through this, the company funds a scholarship awarded twice annually to a female undergraduate student studying computing science full-time at SFU who demonstrates outstanding academic performance and community/volunteer service.
In particular, endowed gifts allow you to fund areas of the university in which you have a special interest and provide SFU with a meaningful and long-lasting financial legacy. Endowments ensure continual, long-term support for students and a wide range of research and teaching programs at SFU. Large endowments provide us with the flexibility to ensure excellence throughout the university.
With careful planning, you can make a gift to the Faculty of Applied Sciences, balancing tax considerations and personal priorities. You can make this gift now or in the future. Examples include wills and bequests, public securities, life insurance and endowments.
The Faculty of Applied Sciences gratefully receives equipment and supplies from industry partners to enrich its research and teaching labs.
