Statement from the Dean
The Faculty of Environment supports freedom of speech and views freedom of expression as a core component of intellectual enquiry. We are also deeply committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and to safeguarding the rights of our LGBTQ2+ community. We want to create a welcoming and safe environment for all people.
We support the Department of Archaeology’s statement with respect to the controversial panel “How media bias shapes the gender debate” that is scheduled to take place on November 2nd. It was originally going to take place at SFU but has been moved to a new venue.
Please note that neither the Department of Archaeology nor the Faculty of Environment sponsored the panel in anyway.
