If you need to renew your passport during your stay here, consult with your country’s embassy or consulate in Canada at least six months before your passport will expire. A list of foreign representatives in Canada can be found at the Government of Canada website.

Remember, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is not able to issue a permit or visa beyond the validity of your passport.  If your passport and immigration documents are expiring, renew your passport well in advance so that you have adequate time to extend your study permit and/or travel documents (TRV, eTA), if applicable.
