Apply to Skoden

Applications are now open for this year's Skoden Indigenous Film Festival, with a 'Regular Deadline' of January 31, 2020.

The Rules & Terms for the Festival are straightforward: 1) Must be Canada-based and have an Indigenous person in a major creative role (director, writer, lead actor, editor, director of photography), 2) The films can be about anything!, and 3) All ages and experiences levels are welcomed to submit.

Find out more on the Festival's FilmFreeway page.

The Skoden Indigenous Film Festival was initiated by SCA film students Carr Sappier (Wolastoqiyik) and Grace Mathisen in an effort to "to showcase Indigenous filmmakers and to Indigenize the SFU community." This year, the Festival has been redeveloped to become a new SCA course, lead by the SCA's Sky Hopinka, which will produce and present the next iteration of the Festival, with the support of the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology.

More information will be shared as we get it. In the meantime, follow the Festival on Facebook for updates.
