Henry Daniel's Contemporary Nomads project goes to Ottawa

The SCA's Henry Daniel's video installation, Nómadas, which is part of his bigger, ongoing 'performance research' project, Contemporary Nomads: 2017-2021, will be a featured part of the Mediating Performance Experiences: Cultures and Technologies in Conversation interdisciplinary and bilingual conference at the University of Ottawa from April 25 to 27, 2019, organized by the STUDIES in MIGRATION Interdisciplinary Research Group in the Department of Theatre. Here's how Daniel's describes Nómadas on his website:

nómadas is a live performance as well as an audio/video installation. It takes its inspiration from the current large-scale movements of bodies across international spaces as a type of chaotic transnational choreography. The work is part of the larger, long term Contemporary Nomads research project, which explores “the deep fragmentation that exists between communities within as well as outside national borders, between nationalized and personalized bodies, and between social and political institutions and the ordinary people they were meant to serve” (Daniel, 2017).

Nómadas was originally presented at the SFU School for the Contemporary Arts from November 22 to December 02, 2017, supported by the Iris Garland Visiting Choreographer Fund and the KRT Wasitodipuro Fellowship Fund, and featured collaborative work of guest artists Adam Basanta (Music), Sammy and Shanghan Chien (Media Design), and Alan Sorey (Set Design).
