Sky Hopinka at the Poor Farm

The SCA's Sky Hopinka is having a solo exhibition at the The Poor Farm, a not-for-profit project space in Manawa, Wisconsin. Ending July 20, 2020, Hopinka's exhibition will also overlap with the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 13-16, providing a provocative juxtaposition for his work at a time of great political anxiety in the USA – and elsewhere.

According to the Poor Farm's site, Hopinka's exhibition "will feature many of his videos from the past six years as well as a new multi-channel installation, and recent photo and text based work. A publication designed by Nate Pyper will accompany the exhibition and include contributions by Almudena Escobar López, Sky Hopinka, Michelle Grabner, John Riepenhoff, Julie Niemi among others."

If you're in or nearby Manawa, Wisconsin, this summer, the Poor Farm will be holding an "evening BBQ reception" for Sky Hopinka, to be followed by an outdoor film screening by Microlights, a Milwaukee based cinema programmed by Ben Balcom and Jesse McLean that "platforms contemporary film and video art."
