French Research Support Service (SARF)
The BAFF is proud to have facilitated the renewal, for an additional three years (2025–2028), of the agreement between Simon Fraser University and Acfas regarding the French Research Support Service (SARF), a pan-Canadian interuniversity service that supports research conducted in French. This initiative reflects the importance that SFU and the BAFF place on fostering French-language research in British Columbia and across Canada.
Strengthening French-Language Research in Minority Contexts
Launched by Acfas in May 2023, SARF is a Canada-wide service dedicated to supporting research conducted in French. It assists researchers working in francophone minority contexts with the preparation of research funding applications submitted in French to Canada’s federal granting agencies. Its team provides personalized guidance and strategic reviews to help researchers develop strong, competitive funding proposals.
The French Research Support Service (SARF) is a pan-Canadian research support initiative that assists with the preparation and review of grant applications submitted in French to the federal granting councils. Developed by and for the research community, SARF aims to address the structural barriers faced by researchers in francophone minority settings, particularly those related to preparing and submitting research funding applications in French.
