December 6, 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the murder of 14 women at the l’École Polytechnique de Montréal in 1989. Following this event, Canada established December 6th as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women, a day to reflect and take action against gender-based violence.

Memorial Service

This year, the SFU community is recognizing the significance of this day of remembrance and action with a memorial service. Let’s stand together against gender-based violence. Join Women in Engineering, the Women’s Centre and the Sexual Violence Support & Prevention Office for a vigil and a memorial outside of the Women’s Centre at 12 p.m. on December 6th 2019.
