Meet Eli, recipient of the 2022 SFU Entrance Scholarship
The Faculty of Environment is excited to welcome Eli Hacker, recipient of the SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship with Distinction.
Joining us from Walnut Grove Secondary, Eli has been awarded this scholarship for demonstrating excellence in both his academic and extracurricular activities.
Eli is passionate about conservation, environmentalism, and sustainable development, so he’s thrilled to be starting his studies in SFU's School of Resource and Environmental Management this year. He hopes to learn more about real world issues and use his education to get out into the field and do meaningful work supporting people, places, and the planet. Eventually he thinks he may pursue a graduate degree or work with Parks Canada.
For now, Eli’s been enjoying the atmosphere and common spaces on campus and has had a great time connecting with like-minded people. He’s also really looking forward to the variety of new learning opportunities and experiences here at SFU.
“I’m thrilled to have so many different course options,” he says. “With the strength, support, and connections of this faculty I really feel like I can build my future here and I’m excited to get started.”
Welcome Eli!
