Employment at SFU
SFU is one of the largest employers within the City of Burnaby and has a substantial employment presence in downtown Vancouver and the City of Surrey. In addition to academic careers, we offer opportunities in a wide variety of non-teaching/research occupations with varied career paths. SFU careers include: conference/event management, continuing education, finance, fund raising, general administration, health and counselling services, human resources, information technology, instructional technology, library support, media and public relations, operations management, recreation and athletics, retail/sales, scientific technical, and technology supported design. The office of Human Resources is responsible for the recruitment of approximately 1,600 non-teaching/research positions at SFU.
Academic positions are advertised by each academic department or faculty. If you are interested in academic positions, please refer to each department or faculty's homepage, or contact the appropriate office by telephone. See our list of Academic Program websites.
This is where you will find all continuing positions and temporary positions over 3 months in duration. They are posted for a minimum of 5 working days on the Human Resources website and are also posted on 3 notice boards at the Burnaby campus (Strand Hall, Academic Quadrangle and Convocation Mall). Each posting includes the status of the position (continuing or temporary), the position title, a summary of the responsibilities, a list of the minimum qualifications, and the salary. In most cases, job descriptions for current job postings are also available. Positions are posted each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.
This is where applicants can follow the status change of postings.
This is where you will find information about Temporary Support Services. Temporary clerical, secretarial, and technical positions with a duration of 3 months or less are normally filled through the Temporary Pool or the Student Temporary Pool.
SFU is committed to the principle of equity in employment and offers equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants.
