Youth in Care
BC Provincial Tuition Waiver Program
The Provincial Tuition Waiver Program (PTWP) waives tuition and fees for B.C. students who are former youth in care studying full-time or part-time at the undergraduate level. As of August 1, 2023, the PTWP is open to former youth in care of any age.

If your accumulated time in care is less than the two year requirement, but still over one year, please send an email to the SFU YIC Manager at fiassist@sfu.ca for further assistance.
Application Process
To apply for the BC Provincial Tuition Waiver Program, complete the following two forms and return them to the Financial Aid and Awards office in person or by email (fiassist@sfu.ca):

Students enrolled in courses through SFU Continuing Studies should contact SFU Continuing Studies directly, as they use their own process for the BC PTWP.
