RECREATIONAL AND OUTDOOR CAMPS
Climbing Camp (10-14 Years)
Climbing camp is an exciting and fun-filled opportunity to learn the essentials of indoor rock-climbing. Campers will be taught safety practices, belaying technique, and proper verbal commands to climb safely, responsibly, and confidently. This camp also included recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors. Perfect for beginners or expereinced climbers wanting to improve on their skillset!
Junior Camp (6 Years)
Spring Break Junior campers experience a variety of themed activities including recreational and co-operative games, creative arts & crafts, and stories. This is a great offering for young minds and a phenomenal introduction to the SFU Camps Experience!
Mountain Madness (7-10 Years)
Come join us as we learn basic outdoor skills (eg. safety, basic orienteering, introductory survival skills), hike a local trail, learn about local plants and wildlife, and develop an appreciation for the environment. Campers must wear closed toed shoes and be dressed for the weather.
Soccer Camps (5-13 Years)
SFU Men's Soccer offers elite coaching for all camps. Divided into skill development, team building and mental training with small-sided World Cup games. The week's activities will culminate in the elusive Cup Finals.
Note: Campers will be grouped by age and skill level. This is a coed camp, however, instruction is organized and supervised by the SFU Men's Soccer Team.
CLINICS & ID CAMPS
Men's Soccer Camps (15+ Years)
IDENTIFICATION CAMP (15+ Years)
The SFU men's soccer Identification Camp is designed to provide players (ages 16+ yrs) with a platform to showcase themselves. At the Identification Camp they have an opportunity to interact and be coached by the varsity coaching staff. This unique opportunity will also provide a 1 hour seminar on the NCAA rules followed by Q&A segment.
Swimming Strokes Clinics (8-18 Years)
We are very excited to offer a “Stroke clinic” during the spring break, you will have the unique opportunity to learn the stroke mechanics from the best coaches and the top canadian swimmers.
The clinic will be divided into four challenging abilities: Pulling, Kicking, Drills and Swim technique.
120 minutes session for each stroke: 30 minutes Activation + 60 minutes Stroke instruction and analysis + 30 minutes Starts & Turns
Eligibility: Male and female swimmers (ages 8-18) of any ability level are welcome. All swimmers must be registered with Swim BC.
Registration Options: 1 day clinic: $50 / 5 days clinic: $200 (Each swimmer will receive SFU Swim cap)
Volleyball Camps (12+ Years)
SPRING BREAK ID CAMP
The SFU Volleyball Spring Break Identification Camp is designed for any high school athletes interested in playing post-secondary volleyball and for players wanting to maintain their volleyball form during the spring break.
POSITION SPECIFIC CLINICS
The SFU Volleyball Position Specific Training focus on improving the techniques specific to each position. The small group sessions are led by Clan head coach Gina Schmidt. Limited spots will be available on a first come, first serve basis and all clinics are opened to volleyball players in Grades 7 to 12.
Dolphin Kids (6-8 Years)
Dolphin Kids is a unique virtual learning opportunity aimed to ignite every child’s intelligence and innovative nature for social connection, critical thinking, creative expression, and purposeful contribution. The program is built on the P.O.D. (play, others, downtime) method and these pillars are incorporated into 1-hour classes which cover a range of topics. Please see below for specific class descriptions.
Our brains can be hardwired to adapt, be resilient, and overcome failure to achieve our very best! Mindset Masters is a great program for young leaders to explore brain science, mindfulness exercises, and positive mindset tools to help them develop an "I CAN DO IT!" attitude and guides young leaders to set goals, explore and community building skills.
Design thinking, technology literacy, and making observations are important skills that today’s children need to succeed in our modern, fast-paced world. Young leaders will explore the basics of coding, hands-on science experiments, and problem-solve with engineering and art-based activities. This interactive, hands-on learning environment will challenge both the left and right brain!
S.T.E.A.M'ers plus is for kids who have completed the STEAMERS program before. STEAMERS Plus, challenges children to grasp complex scientific concepts in a fun and playful environment and leads them to design and develop an invention to solve an existing global crisis.
READ & LEAD
This program uses effective, interactive tools to teach campers the reading fundamentals and comprehension skills they need to become successful leaders. We work on the foundational skills- Alphabets, Phonics, High-Frequency Words, Fluency in a fun and playful way and use reading, writing and storytelling to keep children engaged. All of our programs utilize the POD (Play.Others.Downtime) method to enhance self-motivation, critical thinking, adaptability, and mental health resilience.
FUTURE READY LEADERS
Using the latest neuroscience tools for innovation, social connection, and resilience, this full-day program guides children to develop the 5 future-ready skills of CQ™: creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and contribution.
TED-STYLE PUBLIC SPEAKING
Gain confidence to express your big ideas! TED-Style Public Speaking is a great program for young leaders who want to build their public speaking skills with interactive activities, personalized coaching, and fun speech exercises, leading to their very own Ted-style talk.
