Canvas Pivot

Support for Instructors

CEE is here to support instructors during the Canvas Cloud disruption. We understand that the requirement to pivot at the start of classes can pose significant challenges. The Centre for Educational Excellence will do its best to advise you on recommended practices that will provide some guidance as we work through this challenge. Our goal is to support instructors to the best of our ability.

For SFU instructors:

  • CEE is maintaining this webpage - our goal is to ensure instructors have access to all the information that is available across all service departments. We will be updating this webpage frequently as the situation evolves.
  • You can call us at 778-782-7115. Our technicians are available to address instructor questions.
  • You can submit a ticket by emailing us at ceehelp@sfu.ca.
  • One-on-one consultations can also be requested by phone, email or in person.

CEE Workshops

My course uses Mediasite

To provide videos to students you will have to login to Mediasite and then grab any links to videos you want to share with students.

H5P

We understand that a lot of courses use H5P, and currently, we are looking for options.

crowdmark

Accessing Crowdmark outside of Canvas

It is possible to set up and run a Crowdmark course that is not linked to Canvas.

To begin, you need to log in to Crowdmark with your email address. Use the lowest button on the login page which says “Sign in with email”.

When you login, choose the Crowdmark (no LMS) option. Then create a course. Once you create a course you can add students using a .csv file.

Turnitin

No integration between Canvas Cloud and Turnitin. No changes
