NOTICE: CANVAS CLOUD RESTRICTION
As a precautionary measure, and with the safety of our community and protection of institutional and personal data and intellectual property in mind, effective immediately, SFU is restricting access to Canvas Cloud for all academic, non-academic and continuing education courses.
Effective Monday, May 11:
- Students will no longer be able to sign in to Canvas Cloud. Please do not attempt to log in to Canvas Cloud.
- Instructors and program staff will have access to download course materials, with some restrictions in place to maintain security.
These measures are necessary to safeguard SFU systems, protect sensitive information, and reduce any potential risk arising from the breach.
With this recent incident in mind, we want to emphasize a few key actions that community members can take to help maintain a safe campus and protect assets critical to our work:
- Protect your personal information: Be aware that there are online scams that try to get you to provide personal and/or financial information. Do not respond to unsolicited emails or voice mail that asks for banking, financial or other sensitive information. SFU will never ask for your passwords.
- Report suspicious emails: Report phishing or suspicious emails by following these steps.
