NEW FACULTY INFORMATION

Dear New Colleague,

Congratulations on joining SFU!

Faculty Relations offers you a warm welcome to the University and we wish you success in the months and years to come.

Faculty Relations serves as the planning, policy advising, and administration office for Faculty, Librarians & Archivists, and Academic Administrators. We offer advice and guidance to support each of these groups during their careers with SFU. Many of our resources are available on our website (www.sfu.ca/faculty-relations.html) including an electronic version of your collective agreement. You can also find information addressing a range of matters, from relocation and orientation to contract renewal, tenure & promotion, all the way to retirement.

The New Faculty Information section on our website is an extension of the orientation session offered in August and offers more detailed information relating to various stages of your career. We have included a dedicated page for Orientation, where you will find an introduction to the administrative and service departments at the University. This section also connects you to further information about SFU and the Lower Mainland communities.

The Faculty Relations website also includes the Benefits and Services page containing information about health and welfare benefits, housing, childcare and mortgage assistance. There are other pages dedicated to topics, such as Biennial Reviews & Step Awards, Tenure and Promotion, Leaves and Professional Development Expenses.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, simply head to the Contact Us page to find the Faculty Relations Advisor supporting your Faculty.
