Physics Grad Students win Faculty of Science Private Awards

Three of our students received awards at the Faculty of Science level for the Fall 2026 SFU private awards competition.

Olha Farion and Shania Smagh received the Dr. Eva Voigt Graduate Award in Science for Mentoring Leadership, while Jordan Sawchuk was awarded the Webster-Chen Graduate Scholarship in Faculty of Science.

The Dr. Eva Voigt Graduate Award in Science for Mentoring Leadership recognizes students who exemplify, through their work as a teaching assistant, leadership and strong commitment to mentoring Science undergraduates.  

The Webster-Chen Graduate Scholarship in Faculty of Science recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence.
