Careers

Physics students are qualified to work in a wide range of careers, but few of the careers actually have "physics" in the job title.  Some of the major industries are aerospace, biology, chemistry, computing, education, energy and nuclear, engineering and technology, environment and climate, legal and financial, and medical.  We've provided some example job titles under each of these heading below.  The list is not exhaustive.  For example, Angela Merkel was the Chancellor of Germany from 2005-2021 and her undergraduate degree was in physics from the University of Leipzig.  You control your future and your career choice is up to you.
