Emergency Preparedness Week is a national awareness initiative and an opportunity to take action to ensure we’re prepared to protect ourselves, our family and our community during an emergency.

Emergency Preparedness Week Drill 2026

Safety and emergency preparedness is a shared responsibility and everyone has a role to play. We invite all members of the SFU community to participate in this year’s Emergency Preparedness Week drill happening Wednesday May 6, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.

Pre-drill

  • Download the SFU Safe app and enable push notifications to receive a drill notification. 
  • Other SFU Alerts channels will also be tested including digital screens and Alertus notifications on SFU-managed devices.
  • Review emergency procedures prior to the drill.

Alerts drill at 10:30 a.m.

Test notifications will be sent across multiple platforms, including social media, the SFU Safe and SFU Snap apps, and managed desktops. 

After the drill
