Welcome Kaitlyn Watson!

May 01, 2026

We’re delighted to share that Dr. Kaitlyn Watson has joined TILT as our new Educational Research Developer. After three years without someone in this role, welcoming Kaitlyn feels especially meaningful for our team, and we’re thrilled to have her expertise and energy to help shape our next chapter.

Kaitlyn brings an impressive academic background, holding a PhD in Education Studies from Western University, an MA in Canadian Studies and Indigenous Studies from Trent University, and both a BEd and BASc (Hons) from Lakehead University. Her teaching experience spans more than a decade across high school and post‑secondary settings, including face‑to‑face, online, blended, synchronous, and asynchronous learning environments.

Deeply committed to learner‑centred instruction, Kaitlyn has engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) to explore and enhance her own teaching practice and she’s eager to support others in doing the same. Her research interests include curriculum, social justice, decolonization, and reconciliation, areas that align closely with TILT’s values.

We’re excited for the insight, collaboration, and curiosity Kaitlyn brings to the Educational Research Developer role. Please join us in welcoming her to the TILT team as she gets started in this important position.
