Tools for Inquiry: Conducting Inquiry Using CES

Join us to discuss how instructors can personalize Course Experience Survey questions to conduct inquiry in their courses.

This workshop provides an opportunity for instructors to explore ways to conduct inquiry in their course using a simple Course Experience Survey (CES) question. Instructors will hear from current SFU faculty about how they are using CES to explore new approaches in the classroom, build a practice of inquiry, and improve their teaching and student learning. Towards the end of the workshop, instructors will have a chance to create their own inquirybased CES questions, gain feedback, and discuss how they plan on utilizing them in course development.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

• Identify various ways and options to use a CES question for inquiry within their course.
• Select and/or Draft an inquiry based CES question for their course.
