Request a transcript
Current students and alumni may request transcripts of their official academic records online, via fax, by mail or in person (see below). We unfortunately cannot take requests for transcripts over the phone.
Former students who attended SFU but did not graduate can order official transcripts via fax, by mail or in person. We unfortunately cannot take requests for transcripts online or over the phone.
An official transcript of your SFU academic record, upon your written request, will be mailed to the institution or agency indicated in your request or given to you in a sealed envelope. Third party requests must be accompanied by your signed letter of authorization. We cannot take requests for transcripts over the phone.
Each transcript will include your complete SFU record (both undergraduate and graduate work).

Note: Transcripts for undergraduate students that are processed at the end of each term may not have academic standing notated and may also have grades missing depending on the timing of a transcript request.
No transcript will be issued to or for a student with outstanding indebtedness to the University. To enquire about an account balance, please log in to your SIS account or email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 1.778.782.6930 during office hours (UT -8).

Online: most convenient way to order your transcript
Online ordering remains the most convenient and efficient method of viewing unofficial transcripts and ordering official ones. Credit card payment will be available for all official transcript fees. In addition to online ordering, you may request an official transcript in person, by fax or by mail. At this point, Rush Service requests must be made in person or by fax only.
Current students: order online through the Student Information System.
Alumni: order online through the Student Information System using your student computing ID and password. Graduates before 2009 may need to reactivate their computing ID or change their password. Learn more at www.sfu.ca/alumni/emailforwarding.
Former students who stopped attending after 2009: if you have not completed a certificate, degree or PDP program at SFU, but attended as of October 2009 or later, you are able to view and order your transcripts through the Student Information System using your student computing ID.
Former students who stopped attending before 2009: if you have not completed a certificate, degree or PDP program at SFU as of October 2009, you must order transcripts by mail, fax or in person.
Note: When ordering online, you will be entering the delivery address exactly as it appears on the transcript. Please check for spelling and address errors before completing the transcript request.

Bring the completed Transcript Request Form and your photo ID to one of our three Registrar and Information Services locations listed below:
- third floor of the Maggie Benston Student Services Centre (MBC), Burnaby campus
- main level at the Vancouver campus at 515 West Hastings Street, Vancouver campus
- mezzanine level at the Surrey campus at 250 - 13450 102 Avenue, Surrey campus
If your transcript is being picked up by someone other than yourself, they must have your written and signed authorization, along with their own photo ID.

For an additional $15.00, we will process your transcript immediately and guarantee that it will be ready for pickup or mail the next business day (24 hour turnaround).
Priority delivery service
Priority delivery is a service that gets your transcript delivered to the desired location in a faster, more secure manner. If you choose to use this method, your transcript is sent via Canada Post Xpresspost envelope and can be tracked. Canada Post lists delivery as next day for the Western Region and 1-2 days for the rest of Canada.
