James McGuigan

Biography

Jim McGuigan is President of MP Capital Investments Inc., an independent alternative investment management firm located in Vancouver, Canada. He is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator and SFU Bachelor of Business Administration graduate. Jim was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP from January 1999 to June 2024. Jim was the PwC BC Region Managing Partner and PwC Canada Extended Leadership team member from 2017 to 2022. He was the PwC BC Deals leader from 2012 to 2018 and was a member of the PwC Canada Pension Investment Committee. Over the course of his 35-year career, Jim’s professional practice focused on private and public company transactions including: mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, due diligence and business valuations. He was on the Board of Governors for the Business Council of British Columbia from 2017 to 2022. Jim is currently a Board member for the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation. Jim joined the SFU Beedie Advisory Board in June 2023 and led the Industry Committee in 2023 to 2024.
