Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?
I decided to pursue an MBA because I was ready to take the next step in my career. Having completed my undergraduate degree at SFU, coming back to SFU Beedie felt like the natural next chapter. There is a reason why SFU is consistently voted number one in innovation, community engagement, and sustainability.
I am especially excited about the Strategic Consulting Project, which gives me the chance to apply what I am learning to real-world challenges and presenting my recommendations to industry professionals.
How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?
SFU Beedie is a place where everyone wants to see each other succeed, and you feel that support from day one. The environment is inclusive and inspiring; you are surrounded by people who challenge you to think bigger and do better. One of the best parts has been connecting with amazing alumni and industry professionals, these individuals are always willing to share their experiences and open doors for others.
What has been your favourite experience so far? What are you looking forward to?
Being part of the BC MBA Games and all the extracurricular opportunities at Beedie has been one of my favorite parts of the MBA experience. It can feel like you are too busy or do not have the time, but these experiences are exactly what the program is meant for. They’ve reminded me that growth happens when you step outside the classroom and challenge yourself. Get involved! You will gain more than you expect.
I am most looking forward to National MBA Games.
