Johanes Mikha Gunawan
Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?
I see myself in a role where I can help shape business direction. To get there, I need strong business acumen, practical work experience, and a great network, exactly what the SFU Beedie MBA offers. It’ll build on my current background while keeping my career flexible. Even though I plan to grow in my current industry, I don’t want to be limited to one path. SFU Beedie MBA’s broad focus and networking opportunities will let me learn from diverse people, explore new industries, and gain hands-on experience that helps me move toward my long-term goals.
How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?
Collaborative and supportive. We may have different perspectives and values, but we are not overly competitive about who’s right, instead, we focus on how to approach the situation together.
What has been your favourite experience so far? What are you looking forward to?
Hanging out with my fellow MBA friends after the class (for a run, for a beer, for dinner, etc.). I am looking forward to having other fun activities with my cohort. For academic, looking forward to joining several case competitions and organizations.
