Biography

Lorne Segal, President of Kingswood Properties, proudly upholds his family’s legacy of passion and philanthropy. A University of Oxford alumnus, Lorne’s passion for architecture led him from law to a distinguished career in real estate. His projects include The Kingswood, an ultra-luxurious tower in Vancouver, Redbridge, a master-planned community, bringing a modern approach to lifestyle living in Squamish, and Fifteen Fifteen on Alberni Street—an architectural landmark poised to redefine luxury for a new era, designed by Ole Scheeren.

Lorne’s commitment to community is exemplified through his 19 years as chair of Coast Mental Health’s Courage to Come Back Awards, where he helped grow the event from 200 attendees to a 1,700-person celebration, significantly raising awareness for mental health. As founding chair of WE Day Vancouver (2007–2019), Lorne spearheaded youth empowerment initiatives, inspiring 20,000 youth annually, to create positive change.

His contributions have earned him the Order of British Columbia, two honorary doctorates, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Justice Institute of British Columbia’s Community Leadership Award, and recognition by CAMH as one of Canada’s top 150 mental health changemakers. Through his professional achievements and philanthropy, Lorne continues to leave a profound impact on the built environment and countless lives.
