Bo Chen

Biography

Bo CHEN is the Chutian Professor of Economics in Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the Director of Optical Valley Institute on Free Trade Zone (FTZ). He is also a research associate of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Since June 2013, Chen has participated in consultations for the Shanghai, Guangdong, and Hubei Pilot Free Trade Zones (FTZs) and frequently lectures senior government officials in China on economic policy issues. His advice has been used in reports to the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau. His opinions appear in various mainstream media such as CCTV, Xinhua Media, Lianhe Zaobao, BBC, The Economist, and the Wall Street Journal.
