SFU Beedie continues legacy of excellence at JDC West 2025

March 06, 2025

SFU’s Beedie School of Business continued its tradition of excellence at the 2025 Jeux du Commerce (JDC) West case competition, securing top placements in multiple categories. Hosted by the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, this year’s competition centered around the theme “Harnessing Authenticity for Success.”

JDC West is the largest undergraduate business competition in Western Canada, bringing together business students from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba to compete in academics, athletics, debate, and the Challenge.

SFU Beedie’s 54 undergraduate delegates competed fiercely, earning:

  • First place in Athletics
  • Second place in the Challenge
  • Third place in Business Strategy and Business Technology Management

The competition emphasized the power of authenticity in business, encouraging students to embrace their unique perspectives to drive innovation and success.

"JDC West has taught me far more than any single class could. It was the culmination of everything I have learned throughout my degree, brought together in one unforgettable experience," said Justin Brower, co-captain of the SFU Beedie team.

"Words alone cannot describe the countless skills and experiences I have gained through JDC West," added co-captain Dan Seo. "However, what stands out the most is the relationships I have built—with the executive team, the delegates, and our incredible coaches and alumni".

The 2025 JDC West competition marked another successful year for SFU Beedie, reinforcing the school’s commitment to preparing students for real-world challenges while fostering teamwork, leadership, and community engagement.
