Dr. Sean P. Connaughton is an anthropological archaeologist with on-the-ground practice and broad teaching experience in both anthropology and archaeology. His diverse field experience, publication record, and research background in North American and South Pacific anthropology has earned him the title of anthropologist extraordinaire.
Connaughton is an Archaeologist for Inlailawatash, a Tsleil-Waututh-owned heritage management firm in North Vancouver. He is also an Anthropology instructor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the co-creator and co-host of The Transect, an Archaeology podcast in British Columbia. Working for Inlailawatash allows Connaughton to put into practice Indigenous values, ideals, and needs towards environmental and development projects. He is interested in issues relative to descendant communities such as intangible/tangible cultural heritage, decolonization of archaeological practice, resource use and management, and Indigenous sovereignty.
