To regsiter: Indigenous Land-Based Learning in Post-Secondary Education
Join us for a meaningful conversation exploring Indigenous land-based learning within post-secondary education. Participants will examine how learning through relationships with land and lived experience can support more holistic, relational, and meaningful learning environments.
Grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing and being, the session considers how land-based learning challenges conventional approaches to education by emphasizing reciprocity, reflection, experiential learning, and connection to place. Participants will engage with discussions on decolonizing educational practices, supporting Indigenous student success, and creating learning experiences that honour Indigenous knowledge systems respectfully and authentically.
This 90-minute workshop will explore:
- Foundational perspectives of Indigenous land-based learning
- The relationship between land, identity, culture, and learning
- Relational and experiential approaches to teaching and learning,
- Practical examples and reflections for integrating land-based learning into curriculum and educational practice
Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of Indigenous land-based learning and reflections to support their own educational and professional practice.
