Welcome to the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (MBB) in the Faculty of Science at Simon Fraser University.

While we are a “young” department (formed in 2000), our teaching and research programs have been growing and thriving. This website is intended to provide helpful information for MBB majors, potential graduate students, and others interested in our programs.

Members of MBB consider this to be a particularly exciting period for research in our disciplines, with a rapid pace of discovery of new knowledge that can be applied to many other disciplines and for the benefit of humankind.
