Sessional Positions

The following Sessional appointment is expected to be available in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry for the Fall 2022 semester:                    September 7 to December 19, 2022.

Sessional Instructor

MBB 422                    Nucleic Acids
                                  Salary:   $8421

                                  4 hrs. of lecture at Burnaby Campus

                                  Lectures Tuesday/Thursday 2:30pm-4:20pm

Course description:  Recent literature is examined for insights into the structure and properties of DNA and RNA, drawing on a variety of biochemical, chemical and molecular biological perspectives.

Prerequisite: MBB 331 with a minimum grade of C or permission of the instructor

Minimum qualifications:  Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Must have a working knowledge of DNA and RNA structure, dynamics and function and the relevant techniques used to study these processes.  Previous teaching experience at an upper division Nucleic Acid course required.

Recommended qualifications:  Post-Doctoral experience in Nucleic Acids research.
